rage now takes requests! You can request a video to be played in the 8am-10am Saturday morning mix by clicking here

rage gets lots of requests so not all of them can be played, but check the playlists that we post on our website each Friday to see if your video has been picked.

The rage schedules are being worked on right up until Friday so that the very latest videos are part of the show. The schedules are finalised generally around Friday lunchtime and as soon as this is done they are published on the website.

If you want to know what new clips we will be featuring in the weekend’s playlists then check the rage homepage on Thursday as this is when a ‘new releases’ list is posted.

Because rage is a very long show and is broadcast ‘live to air’ this makes it technically difficult to title the start and end of each clip. rage tries to have as little interference with the video as possible so that it can be enjoyed the way the creators intended!

If you miss the beginning of a music video and therefore miss the title and you want to find what it is then have a look at what the name of the next clip is and take note of the approximate time it played. Then you can get online take a look at that days playlist and work it out.

So you’ve got an awesome clip and you want to get it played on rage...fantastic...rage loves new clips!!!

All you got to do is send in a dub of the video on a digital betacam or betacam SP tape - these are the only formats on which we accept new clips (and make sure you don’t send the master copy...you should keep hold of that!). Please don’t send in DVDs of your video clip, either with your tape or instead, as rage watches the tape copies only.

Make sure the start of the tape has a clapper on it with the name of the artist and title of the song. Also label the actual tape and the tape cover with the same PLUS include your return address so we can send it back to you. (Please note - If you want us to send your tape back to you via registered post, please include a self addressed registered post envelope).

Please keep in mind that rage receives a massive amount of new music videos every week so if your clip is going to be played it may take several weeks. Keep your eye on the rage playlists on the website to find out.

Overseas artists please note that the digital betacam should be in PAL format not NTSC.

It’s also very important to note that rage being part of the ABC strictly abides by its Editorial Policies. It is very clear that rage is unable to broadcast music videos that have repeated and prominent references to commercial organisations or products. rage plays all kinds of music videos from a broad range of styles and music genres. Whether it be local, international, signed or unsigned - but rage does receive a massive number of music videos and there’s only so much airtime. Some videos get one run, some get more, and some may never make it to air...but everything is considered.

The ARIA Top 50 has not been a part of rage programming since the end of July 2006. This was a result of ABC programming changes but if it’s chart topping clips and the latest pop videos you want rage still plays them! Saturday mornings on ABC1 has all the latest hits.

Every Saturday in January rage plays episodes of Countdown and other classic material from the ABC musical archives such as Rock Arena, GTK and Recovery for rage retro month! You can leave ideas for episodes you’d like to see during retro month on our message board!

Record companies generally own the copyright to the music videos rage plays. The ABC has the rights to broadcast videos but not to supply videos to others so therefore there’s no chance of selling rage programs. BUT!!! rage has released several compilations on DVD and CD and you can purchase these from ABC shops. Check the website for rage releases.

Sorry there’s just so much great stuff to play on rage that there are very rarely any repeats. Remember to check the 'coming up' section on the rage website front page regularly so that you don't miss your favourite artist or band or follow rage on twitter so you get alerted or become a rage friend on facebook!

Some videos particularly from the U.S.A. arrive at rage with the swearing or other content edited out or deleted. Rage tries hard to get unedited copies wherever possible but it doesn’t always work out. If a censored version is the only one released by a record company then that’s what rage will play.
