You know the tunes. Now check out the videos!

This weekend rage brings the triple j hottest 100 to your TV, playing the video clips (well, the ones we could get our hands on…) for last year's most popular songs, as voted by triple j listeners.

Last night we got as far as number 51. Tonight we're going all the way, counting down to the number 1 tune of 2006.

Tune in to see clips from The Strokes, The Killers, Lady Sovereign, Regina Spektor, Lily Allen, Youth Group, Grates, Peter Bjorn & John, Lupe Fiasco, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Saboteurs and stacks more.

For a full run down of clip times, check out the rage playlists (posted on the rage website on Friday afternoon).

Until then, visit the triple j website to see the complete Hottest 100 list and relive the broadcast.

Hottest 100 History

triple j's hottest 100 is one of the largest public music polls in the world with millions of individual votes counted since it's inception in 1989.

Originally listeners were asked to compile a list of their favourite songs of all time and mail them to triple j. Diligent triple j staffers then tallied these votes by hand! Today things have been greatly simplified behind the scenes, with all voting cast online.

Joy Division topped the first hottest 100 with the classic ‘Love Will Tear Us Apart’. The seminal British band stayed on top for successive years until a band called Nirvana released a little tune by the name of ‘Smells like Teen Spirit’ in '91.

The focus of the hottest 100 changed after these early years limiting the voting selection to songs released in the previous 12 months. Since the change, Australian artists have featured prominently with Spiderbait, The Whitlams, Powderfinger,Alex Lloyd and Jet all having taken the coveted number one position.
